Honda shoppers in The Dalles can find the all new 2012 Honda Pilot at Griffith Motors.   The 2012 Pilot is a crossover SUVs that’s already gaining recognition for its many advanced features.  The Pilot recently won Cars.com’s “SUV Shootout”, and now Honda shoppers in The Dalles can learn why.

Every Pilot is powered by a 250-hp, 3.5-liter, aluminum-alloy, SOHC, 24-valve i-VTEC engine featuring the latest version of Honda’s advanced Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) system.

The 2012 Pilot comes with The Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure.   ACE is a Honda exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions. The ACE design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle.

This enhanced frontal crash energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a crash.

Standard on all Pilot models is Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), which can brake individual wheels and/or reduce engine power in the event of oversteer or understeer to help regain the driver’s intended path. The system also features a traction control function to help prevent wheelspin during acceleration.

For drivers with small children, the Pilot features the LATCH system (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) in all three second-row seating positions and in the right-side third-row seat. The LATCH system provides two lower anchors and an upper tether anchor. When used with a compatible child seat, the LATCH system provides attachment points between the child seat and the vehicle seat.
